If you want attention, here’s one way to get it: load up 11 awesome new tubes, grab a pontoon boat and head to the shoreline at Bear Lake that straddles the border of Idaho and Utah. You do this and you’re sure to draw out a lovely green tinge in anyone’s cheeks when they realize what you’re up to—you’re about to hit the waves for a day of tube testing!

With an awesome team of testers ready and rearing to go, it was definitely one of those jobs that’s more fun than work—like a 10 to 0 ratio. Tanisha Squire, Jessica Barker, James Moughanian and Justin Mackert were eager to lend a hand and give us some great feedback that will help narrow down what you’re looking for in a towable. And since towables can be an investment, you want to make sure the design you pick will give you the dream ride your family is after.

And really, we couldn’t have done it without the generosity of the folks at BearLakeFun.com, who were willing to set us up with the Sweetwater pontoon rental that we needed to get everything going!

Special thanks to BearLakeFun.com and North Shore Rentals for making our day of testing a successful one. Besides the power boats, the rental business offers all boat towables (tubes, wakeboards, wakesurfers, banana sleds, etc.,), water trampolines, standup paddleboards, canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, bicycles, RZR UTV side-by-sides and snowmobiles in the winter. Owner Brian Hirschi staffs around 30 summer employees and three full-time year-round mechanics after starting out as a small business years ago.

Bear Lake has it all and BearLakeFun.com can help you get the most out of your trip. There is a lot of space for boats to spread out with plenty of local amenities. The company even has a fast food restaurant right on the sandy beach at one of its locations where they offer a full menu of food including famous Bear Lake Raspberry Shakes.

Thoughts from the Testers:

“Being on the front was fun, but being on the back you had to do a lot more to stay on. There are more hand positions, but you definitely get the whip from the waves before it, so it’s fun. That kind of surprised me a little bit. You bounce WAY high.” – Jessica
