There is no doubt that art inspires and creates a unique culture in a community. The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho, located in Idaho Falls, has been a great asset to the area. It provides museum-sanctioned art instructors to public schools to teach art classes at no cost. It also brings in not only regional, but national and international art exhibits. It is a great location to celebrate and take part in art. Part of how they fund these activities is through events like The HeART of Idaho Century ride. This ride is a great opportunity to have fun while supporting the arts in Eastern Idaho.
The HeART of Idaho is now in its sixth year and has managed to raise funding for a lot of excellent programming and exhibits. Some of the things offered are youth art classes, hosted at the museum, that introduce children to a variety of different art techniques in a fun manner. There are also adult art workshops that cover figure drawing, pottery, watercolor and more. Not to mention the ever-changing and unique exhibits that The Art Museum showcases.
The HeArt of Idaho ride is a growing race expecting 400+ riders this year. Many enjoy and look forward to participating, bringing a variety of different people from several states. The HeArt of Idaho consists of a 100, 62, 50, and 25 mile rides. Registration fees depend on the particular race being participated in varying from $40-68. There are also family oriented registration packages for a specialized fee. Registration fees include full bike support, feeding stops with complimentary food and drink, as well as the post-ride BBQ.
What makes this race different is the atmosphere. This isn’t necessarily a competitive race, although those who wish to use this to train can. This race is based in fun and being a part of the local community. The race begins at Snake River Landing where there will be live music, a beer garden, prize drawings and more. The feeding stops along the way include a watermelon stop, and infamous homemade cookies. Honestly, what could be better!
